Fort Wayne South Bend Bishop Kevin Rhoades presents The List of Priests Who Got Away With It

By Dean Robinson, Summit City Noise - September, 18, 2018

The List of Sexually Abusive Priests promised by Indiana Roman Catholic "Bishop" Kevin Rhoades is a list of priests and deacons who got away with sex abuse.

The Journal Gazette - Report details Rhoades' response to scandal by Rosa Salter Rodriguez - August 15, 2018

The Rev. Kevin C. Rhoades, bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, is named in a Pennsylvania grand jury report in connection with his handling of two cases of sexual abuse of minors by priests.

The 900-page report, which found more than 300 priests and seminarians abused 1,000 children and teens in six Pennsylvania dioceses over 70 years, was made public Tuesday (August 14, 2018).

Rhoades headed the Diocese of Harrisburg in central Pennsylvania from 2004 to 2009.

After learning in 2007 of an allegation against the Rev. Francis A. Bach, Rhoades sent a summary of the priest's repeated sexual conduct with boys to the Congregation on the Doctrine of the Faith.

He wrote “that he did not believe there was a need for trial or process, judicial or administrative,” the report states.

“If this case is brought to trial or given any kind of publicity,” Rhoades wrote, “I fear it will cause scandal to many because he is still a priest who is beloved by many in our diocese.”

Bach was accused of sexually molesting teen boys on a boat Bach co-owned with another priest in Maryland, in motels and in a parish where he was serving. (JG)

WBOI - Diocese Promises Release of Names of Alleged Abusers By Rebecca Green - August 17, 2018

The names of those credibly accused of sexual abuse within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend will soon be known.

Bishop Kevin Rhoades made the promise Friday afternoon, during a press conference called in response to the Pennsylvia grand jury report detailing decades of sexual abuse within the Catholic Church there. (WBOI)

In response to the ongoing Catholic Church pedophile problem, Pope Francis speaks!

National Catholic Reporter - Satan is attacking bishops; they must fight with prayer, pope says By Carol Glatz, Catholic News Service - September 11, 2018

The great accuser "seeks to reveal sins, which people can see, in order to scandalize the people" of God, he said in his homily during morning Mass at Domus Sanctae Marthae.

In these times, Pope Francis said, it seems like the devil, "the great accuser, has been let loose and he's got it in for the bishops. True, there are, we are all sinners, we bishops." (NCR)

Mary Glowaski is the Special Assistant to the Bishop in Pastoral Care, Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. Glowaski says she has worked for the bishop's office since 2004.

Rhoades was named bishop of the Fort Wayne-South Bend Diocese in 2009.

When asked whether or not "Bishop" Kevin Rhoades has been attacked by Satan as Pope Francis suggests, Glowaski says "I don't know."

Glowaski says every sexual abuse allegation she has dealt with has been reported to the police. Glowaski says every sexual abuse case she reported to the police had exceeded the statute of limitations for prosecution.

The List of 18 Sexually Offensive Priests and a Deacon by "Bishop" Kevin Rhoades is brought to you by Today's Catholic.

The List of Sexually Offensive Priests By "Bishop" Kevin Rhoades names 18 men. Two men on The List - James Blume and Paul LeBrun - have been convicted and incarcerated for child sex abuse crimes.

James Blume is serving a 20-year sentence in Wisconsin, not Indiana.

Paul LeBrun is doing a 111-year stint in Arizona, not Indiana.

WANE-TV: Fort Wayne bishop shares list of priests accused of sexual abuse By WANE Staff Reports - September 18, 2018

Rhoades said in August that there were no current investigations ongoing within the Fort Wayne-South Bend Diocese.

He said he would "never under my watch, never allow a priest who has abused a minor to serve in this Diocese." (WANE)

It appears that three men on The List - Thomas Lombardi, Cornelius Ryan, and James Seculoff - worked directly under Kevin Rhoades.

Lombardi, Ryan, and Seculoff have not been incarcerated or convicted for sex crimes.

The List of 18 Sexually Offensive Priests (and a Deacon) by "Bishop" Kevin Rhoades includes sixteen men - credibly accused sex offenders - who got away with it.

Now and forever.

Amen.
